In a fairly unshocking revelation, the report reveals what we’ve long suspected: that cable news is full of lobbyists and PR flacks with obvious conflicts of interest that are not disclosed by the stations. These shills ostensibly make arguments on their merits but actually are just playing roles in a fairly scripted play. Cable news really is just cheap theater with bad acting and worse dialog.
Here, Brooke Gladstone talks to one of those flacks, Terry Holt. Just try to listen to his remarks and not feel cynical about cable news and our political process at large.
I love Gladstone’s question towards the end, something to the effect of “Don’t you feel icky sometimes?”
